Protein Shakes So I get the question alot, “when should i take my protein shake”, during the day, before my workout or after? Well i have quite a few during the day, but if i could only have ONE, i would 100% choose after my workout. I load it up with a carbohydrate and have it right when im done with lifting. The carbohydrates act as a transportation system, they carry the protein to the torn muscles and help with recovery. I feel a shake without carbs in it is a waste of a workout. (not really, but you see my point) The protein will help build muscle and help with recovery. So take your shake with you to the gym, and get it in your system asap after lifting, there is a small window of about 30 min when it is at it’s full “helpful” potential. I also like to put glutamine and creatine in my shake for recovery and muscle growth. Good luck, and like always feel free to ask any questions you may have! When To Do What Exercises So this might be a widely known post but i figured id pass it on to some that might not know. Day 2- Back and biceps, with the same reasoning as prior. Back is primary while biceps is secondary muschle. When choosing exercises to do and when to do them and in which order, here is a good rule of thumb i usually go by. Day 3-rest Day 4- Legs, this includes quadriceps and hamstrings I do these workouts in this order for a reason. Day 5-Shoulders, calves and abs. While chest and back use shoulders to help with the movements, it gives the shoulders Day 6-Rest a few days of rest before they are trained Day 7- Rest vigorously. Good Luck, as Day 1- Chest and triceps, why together you may ask? Chest is the primary muscle being always if you have any questions feel worked while the triceps is the secondary free to ask anytime! muscle also know as the helper muscle for the chest. So always do chest prior to triceps and for the most part on the same day. 33
