Which of course there is work to be done on those surfaces to but he said as far as carpet goes, he wouldn’t start another one. Im curious to hear thoughts from others on here about it. The job was a 2000 sq. ft. house. About 70% of it was tile he supposedly wanted cleaned too. There were three 12x12 bedrooms, a 15x15 bedroom and an insert of carpet in the living room 10x15. Hallway was tile. I go in and quoted him $175 for the 5 rooms. His response was that he had never paid more than $89 for carpet cleaning. I kind of laughed as I said I couldn’t help him for that price. I lowered my price to $150 and he was still complaining so I told him I needed to be going. He mentions my 3 rooms and a hall for $109 coupon. I said sure, the first 3 rooms are $109 and the other rooms are $66 for a total of $175. He then proceeds to tell me since his hall was tile he was counting the living room as a hall. I laughed as I started walking to the door. He comes back and said will you do it for $125? I was silent for a minute and finally said ok and I got to work. Rooms were all empty and this should have been a 1.5 hour job. It was white carpet moderately soiled. It cleaned up beautifully, better than I even expected with the exception of 5 dye stains I could not get to budge. The stains weren’t even that bad and you had to be looking for them to notice them.
