Accessories
Various accessories are available from many dealers
to help streamline your slab work.
A “slab divider” is a bar with wheels on each end
and adjustable cutters attached to the bar. After the operator sets the desired distance between the cutters, the roller
is pulled along the length of the slab, sectioning it into
segments of desired widths in one swift pass. Available in
20”, 30” and 40” widths, this device saves a tremendous
amount of measuring and cutting time. Six cutters are
provided with each divider, which lists from approximately $34 for the 20” model to $41 for the 40” model.
Another helpful slab cutting tool is the compass, used
for cutting perfect circles of various sizes. A special clay
compass is available which can be fitted with more than
one cutter, so several different circles can be cut in one
