The CPI (ML) strongly condemns the missile attack on Syria
launched by the US, British and French imperialists as an illegal
act of aggression.
The accusation, unproven by any standard, that the Syrian
Government’s military used banned chemical weapons against
US-backed rebels in the city of Douma is a concocted lie. It is
being used as a pretext to launch missile attacks on Syria.
As the US-backed Islamist proxy forces fighting to overthrow
the government of Bashar al-Assad are facing military defeat,
the US decided to escalate war and its intelligence agencies
manufactured the pretext of chemical weapons.
The manufacture of a pretext is always the tactic used by
the US imperialism against the country it wanted to conquer – be
it Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, or Libya’s chemical agents
or Iran’s nuclear programme. The previous US accusation that
Assad used chemical agents against the people was thoroughly
proved as a blatant lie.
The US imperialism and its allies have committed war crimes
which killed half a million people in Syria in the last seven years.
With the missile attacks on Syria the US imperialism made it
clear that it has no respect for the international codes, and pretexts
are used to achieve its deeper aims, that is, establishing its
hegemony over the Middle East and push back Russia to establish
absolute control over oil resources.
We call upon the people and democratic forces to condemn
the US missile attacks on Syria and express solidarity with the
people of Syria. It is clear that the present conflict will not confine
to missile attacks and it will escalate into war. It is the duty of the
people of world to resist these attempts to protect the world peace.
