GED Program Classes (English and Spanish) GED English for English Language Learners Location: Sonia Gutierrez Campus The General Education Development (GED) class prepares students to take the official GED exam and earn a high school equivalency credential. The curriclum focuses on math, social studies, sciences, reading, and writing. Students are advised on their strengths and weaknesses based on preliminary test scores and develop an action plan for focused studying in order to successfully pass the exam. Requirements: - Advising session with GED program director - Eligible for ESL 6 or higher - Did not graduate high school in home country, or do not have an original copy of high school transcript GED Spanish Location: Harvard Street Campus The GED in Spanish program prepares students who have not completed high school to get a high school equivalency credential by passing four computerized tests in the sub- jects of Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language. Students enrolled in this program follow an individualized instructional plan. Requirements: - Advising session with GED in Spanish program director - Must not have a high school diploma in the U.S. or own country AlfabetizaciĆ³n Location: Harvard Street Campus This class is for Spanish speaking adults who did not learn how to read when growing up. Students in this class focus on the foundations of reading and writing in Spanish. Requirements: - Native Spanish speakers only - 0 to 2 years of schooling 11
