Out & About
Garrick Street is in a good central location and so much of interest lies
within easy reach. The underground system is simple to understand and
wherever you go in London you will never be far from something interesting
to explore. You can see a lot of London from the top of a double decker bus
- so don’t miss out. Climb on to the top and head for the front seats!
Covent Garden is pure entertainment! It’s filled with street entertainers, open
air cafes from which to watch the world go by, some elegant architecture,

plenty of interest. Here also is the Royal Opera House, home to The Royal
Opera and The Royal Ballet.
The National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery are within a short walk;
both are free and offer hours of interest. The Courtauld Gallery is small but
perfect, a gem. It is to be found in Somerset House, an important arts and
cultural centre on the Strand. In winter the courtyard is turned into an ice
skating rink!
