Grand Cinemas launches first 4D theatre in Kuwait Grand Cinemas, under the management of Selim Ramia & Co, announced today the beginning of a new era in the movie-going experience with the introduction of the first 4D cinema in Kuwait. The world’s foremost 4D cinema technology, MX4D® will debut exclusively at Grand Al Hamra Luxury Center, marking yet another innovation ‘first’ for the region’s fastest growing cinema chain. What is MX4D® Cinema? MX4D® is MediaMation’s uniquely branded “4D” motion and special effects system. 4D refers to a new level in total immersion technology, which brings the cinema alive by allowing movie-goers to experience big Hollywood titles on moving seats augmented with environment special effects. These include air blasts and water spray, fog, scents, strobe lighting, leg and neck ticklers, back pokers, seat rumblers and other special effects that emanate from specially designed theatre seats, or from inside the theatre itself. The multiple EFX are programmed to both sync with and enhance the action on the screen and sounds in the theatre for a more exciting and realistic movie-going experience. Grand Cinemas will launch the MX4D® experience at Al Hamra Luxury Center in July, in a state-of-the-art theater housing 90 speciallyequipped motion EFX seats surrounded by the thrilling atmospheric effects systems that will allow film fans to touch, smell, feel and live every moment of their chosen movie attraction. The MX4D®movie line-up will kick off with Independence Day, Ghostbusters 3D and Ice Age 3D. HEMPEL Kuwait will increase its production next year with the opening of a 20,000- square meter state of the art factory in 2017, with a production capacity rising to 19 million liters in two shifts. The expansion plan coincides with HEMPEL’s golden jubilee anniversary in Kuwait as a result of an alliance with the Al Rashed family, which for the past 50 years has witnessed great developments and has strengthened its position as a leading coating and paints company in the country. Mr. Khaled Al Rashed, Member of the Board of Directors at HEMPEL ’Middle East-West, said: “We look forward to the big celebration of the five decades here in Kuwait this coming October.
