City Services Satisfaction Survey 2001 City Services Satisfaction Survey | Page 3

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The City of Arlington was interested in conducting a survey among city residents to measure satisfaction with city services. Information gathered from this survey will be used in planning and budgeting, and will serve as a benchmark for possible future waves of the survey. METHODS A total of 500 telephone interviews were conducted among adult residents of Arlington. Within this sample, quotas were set for gender, age and zip code to ensure an accurate representation of the city’s population. Random-digit sampling was used, but was supplemented with purchased sample of listed households for some zip codes. All respondents were ages 18 or over and live within Arlington city limits, excluding Dalworthington Gardens and Pantego. Half were male and half were female. All interviewing was done on computers. Dates of interviewing were December 14, 2000 through January 17, 2001. A copy of the questionnaire, along with further discussion of data collection and data processing procedures, is presented in the Appendix. USE OF DECISION ANALYST, INC.
