10-year trend of new / expanded and closed businesses in town

In the past ten years , the City has added 73 new retail and restaurant businesses and lost 25 businesses . Most of the losses were attributed to changes in corporate retailing , family succession plans and / or changing shopping patterns . However , since 2007 , the community has benefited from close to $ 10 million in retail investment , not including the newly-renovated Deer Path Inn and soon-to-open Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital . In 2017 , the City anticipates the opening of a new restaurant and plans for two additional businesses . Exciting news for Lake Forest !
