port Committee (LNMSC)
RECAP:
The holiday season was a busy and festive one for the
LNMSC. Committee members and volunteers collected
toys for the children of the City’s adopted Marine Battalion
(the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines) and Navy destroyer (USS
Stockdale) and helped distribute the presents at Holiday
parties. Sailors marched in the City’s Holiday Parade and
were treated to a festive holiday luncheon hosted by the
Committee and several community organizations. A warm
thank you to Tilly’s and its employees for their generous
donations to our annual Holiday Toy Drive.
LOOKING AHEAD:
The New Year brings new opportunities. The 1st Battalion,
4th Marines will be deployed during much of 2018, so the
Committee will be working to help the Marines as they
perform their overseas duties, and assist their families
here at home. In September, the LNMSC will host its
fourth annual Fairways to Freedom: Golfing for Heroes
