Lynn Hewitt
Recreation Coordinator
Lynn Hewitt began working for the City of Laguna Niguel
as a Senior Recreation Leader for Sea Country Senior &
Community Center in 2010. She then transitioned into the
role of Recreation Coordinator before taking on full-time
responsibilities of the position in September 2015.
While in this role, she was responsible for managing many contract classes
and instructors, adding new and interesting classes to round out the center’s
programs and offerings. Her passion shines through in planning and executing
senior social events that draw out excitement and joy, making each event a
memorable time for all.
Her current position involves coordinating senior health and wellness,
managing facility reservations for parties and special events, planning
informative lectures, and overseeing the fitness center.
Prior to working for the city, Lynn gained valuable event experience at
Rancho Capistrano as the Assistant Wedding Director planning & coordinating
extravagant weddings and events. After graduating from Cal State Fullerton
with a Business Administration degree, Lynn started her career in sales at NCR
Corporation, advancing to District Manager responsible for a large sales team
and product line revenue.
Lynn is a California native and longtime resident of Laguna Niguel. She is
married to Paul and has been involved in the community along with her three
amazing kids, Brittany, Bryce, and Gina, as well as a rambunctious 90lb. white
Labrador; Luna Moon. She loves traveling to new places, spending time with
family and friends, enjoying beach activities, and of course, planning events.
Danielle Borenstein
Recreation Coordinator
Danielle Borenstein just celebrated her one year
anniversary with the City of Laguna Niguel. She has a
bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the
University of California, Santa Barbara, and has now
enjoyed seven years in the field of Recreation. Danielle started with the City
in June 2016 as a Senior Recreation Leader, was shortly promoted to part-
time Recreation Coordinator, and recently promoted to full-time Recreation
Coordinator at the Sea Country Senior & Community Center. Danielle most
recently worked for the City of Lake Forest where she planned summer camps
and assisted with special events. However, it was her first job working at the
front desk at the City of Yorba Linda Senior/Community Center where she
found her love for working with the community, and especially seniors.
In her present position as Recreation Coordinator, Danielle is responsible
for managing and overseeing the senior newsletter, special events, contract
classes and instructors, and assisting with other senior programs at the Sea
Country Senior and Community Center.
Danielle feels lucky to have a job where she enjoys coming to work every day
because of her co-workers and the seniors she gets to work with. “I love that I
have a job where I can make a positive impact on the community I work for and
the people that live there.” During Danielle’s free time she loves to travel, go to
the beach, and spend time with her husband Brett and family.
