circostanti, sono state abolite, si è preferito
un prospetto coperto da brise soleil
orizzontali in ottone che, pur consentendo
l’ingresso della luce, ombreggiano la
facciata limitando il surriscaldamento degli
ambienti interni. Agli angoli dell’involucro, i
solar tube trasportano la luce all’interno per
illuminare in modo naturale la quasi totalità
della struttura. L’organizzazione interna è
poi, espressa nell’esterno dell’edificio, che
si presenta come dialogo tra le facciate
in ghisa del Ladies’ Mile Historic District a
nord e le brownstone house del Greenwich
Village a sud-ovest. I volumi sono rivestiti

stairs. A great green rooftop, 1200 sqm,
allows a perfect climate control, fighting the
heat island effect, facilitating rain outflow,
helping insects and birds to endure in the
urban environment. The building is certified
LEED Gold USGBC, because it employs
sustainable source materials and only the
35% is a glazing façade, reducing the heating
requirements. The building has numbers
of green technologies inside: Led sources,
presence sensor, 265 kW cogeneration plant
and a green rooftop (partially financed by
NYC Environment Protection Department).
