Sustainability is based on the balance between social, economic and environmental angle. If we want obtain a socially equitable building we should search the best solutions for everyone involved in the construction or renovation building process: the owner, the residents, the manager and the maintainers, the design team and, the surrounding community members as unwitting beneficiaries of a neighborhood amended by the building construction. The design strategies and actions that have a positive impact on these subjects are numerous and diverse, for example open and recreational spaces for socialization or facilitate a sustainable mobility. It’s important to consider the new building positive externalities and inform designers about the influence that some choices they do on urban scale.
