As a kid I had two options for my birthday parties: Tobogganing at a neighbour’s house
(they were the only ones with a good enough hill) or Mcdonalds followed by a movie at
the cheap theaters. I like to imagine that I would have had more options if my birthday
was in July instead of January but I doubt it.
As an event planner I love that there are so many options for parents now. Even a basic
Princess Party can be customized and turned into something amazing! Whether you love
to DIY or you hire everything out, kids parties can be fun and stress free! I always suggest
to my clients to have the party somewhere besides your house. One reason is the set time
limit for your guests. Parties are fun but after a while can be overwhelming for the child
(and parents!) especially if the child is young. If you have the party outside your home you
do not have to worry about guests staying all day and messing with naptime/bedtime.
There are many options around Edmonton to host your child’s party.
Java Mama, Cafe O’Play, Gymboree, and Treehouse Indoor Playground are all great
options for a young child’s party. Places like these are fantastic for younger children since
they are a safe, clean environment with equipment and play structures made specifically
for younger kids. They can also help with set up and clean up allowing you more time
with your guests. Java Mama and Gymboree also have party package options for a
theme party complete with all the decorations and activities you need!
The City of Edmonton also offers fun and original ideas for your child’s party. John Janzen
the Zoo and the Muttart have the best options for younger kids. Party packages they offer
include a Dinosaur Party, Nature Play, Fairy Parties, Animal Alphabet, and a Little Lady
Bug party. Adding your own personal touches such as fairy wings for each child or
special dino themed treat bags can create a custom party within a budget.
