The Tap and Barrel (Olympic Village)
Surprisingly, the Tap and Barrel is a great
place to take your kids for an early supper or
brunch. They have a lending library that has
a few good books for kids if you’re stuck and
you can take it home if your little falls in love
with it. Colouring pages are available for
kids too. Great wine and beer are on tap
too and check out the big screen for a
hockey game. They have one of the biggest
patios in town and the view is to die for.

Cactus Club Café (most locations)
Cactus Club Café has so many locations
across the lower mainland that you’re sure
to find one in a pinch. And because they
can adapt the menu for kids and have high
chairs and many of their restaurants have
booths, good for keeping the littles contained
somewhat. It’s a win for you if you want an
adult atmosphere

De Dutch has always been a go to for my
family, even before having had a child.
What I love the most about their menu is of
course their pannekoek. It’s great for sharing
and the toppings are endless. Some locations,
like the w 2nd one have play areas for kids
and the staff is welcoming and friendly.
Colouring pages and spill proof cups are
standard but the food is anything but.

Sophie’s Cosmic Café

Just the décor alone will keep the kids
occupied, but that isn’t enough they’ve got
lots of crayons to fill in their kid’s menu/
placemats. The food is as comfort as it
comes with a healthy twist if you prefer.

Fun, friendly and delicious, if you’ve got a
craving for homemade mac and cheese this
is the place to go. They have so many
varieties, gluten-free and vegan too that you
could easily come here every week and try
something new. Great for take out too or if
