Crispy Chilli Chicken

This is an ideal treat when you want a Chinese meal. To feed four hungry people it costs around the same as a single portion from the take-away, and it isn't difficult to prepare even though there are a few steps to go through.

Ingredients

4 Chicken breasts

3 tbsp flour

Salt and pepper

2 cm piece of ginger, grated

1 Red chilli (or 2)

3 Large spring onions, chopped into 2 cm pieces

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp honey

2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce

Juice of a large lemon

3 level tsp cornflour

80 m water

Oil for frying

Method

Step 1

Cut the chicken into small strips Coat in seasoned flour Deep fry and set aside

Step 2

Chop the onion and chilli and deseed the chilli, grate the ginger

Step 3

Mix the rest of the ingredients in a separate bowl Start to fry the chilli, onion and ginger and add the mixed remaining ingredients. Finally add the fried chicken, serve.
