W Melbourne marks No. 2 Marriott International is to open W Melbourne in 2020 at 447 Collins Street. Part of the $1 billion mixed-use luxury development Collins Arch, W Melbourne marks the second W Hotel coming to Australia, following W Brisbane which is scheduled to open its doors in 2018. The hotel will offer 294 guestrooms, including 40 suites and an Extreme Wow Suite. A bar and restaurant, AWAY spa, FIT workout facility, and WET indoor heated swimming pool complete the package. Wellington on the QT Following a more than $12 million makeover The Museum Art Hotel has rebranded to QT Museum Wellington, marking the first New Zealand location for the QT brand. The hotel's eclectic art collection will continue to be displayed throughout the public spaces. Perth goes Aloft The opening date for the new Aloft Perth has been confirmed, with the 224-room hotel now accepting bookings for reservations from May 26 onwards. The hotel will feature a rooftop ballroom and outdoor terrace, which will become Perth’s highest function venue, with capacity for 300 people and views from the 15 th floor. Peppers for Fortitude Valley A new Peppers is slated for the $600 million ‘FV’ project in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. FV by Peppers is expected to launch later this year in line with the first stage of construction completion of the three tower project. Once open, FV by Peppers will be Mantra Group's largest property in Australia. Hobart’s Luxury debut Marriott International will open a Luxury Collection Hotel in Hobart, scheduled to open in 2018 following a full scale renovation. The property will be the first hotel in Tasmania for The Luxury Collection, featuring 128 guest rooms and suites with carefully restored features, including original windows, floor boards and fireplaces.
