Dubbest New Album, Making Moves, and the High Cost of Touring By John Powell F or the self-released Light Flashes (2015), Dubbest headed into the studio with Craig (Dubfader) Welsch, who has been developing a core mix of vintage reggae sound with modern flare for years. Dubbest is a young band, all its musicians are in their early 20's, but the sound is progressive like a band having years of experience developing their sound, and this record certainly sets them in line with their contemporaries, so the team-up resulted in one of the best sounding roots reggae albums this year. Cory Mahoney, one of Dubbest's guitarists, finally had a minute away from a busy summer touring to catch Cider 5
