One of the most intriguing and charasmatic front men around, James Ford, takes his talents to a new landscape, hosting an all new Open Mic in downtown Keene. “I’m really excited, really interested to see what will come of it,” said Ford. “This is how talent gets started, at Open Mics, and it’s going to be a very cool dynamic to be a part of.” Even though Keene, NH boasts not only one of the biggest populations in VT and NH, but also plays host to an additional 6,000 + college students that have just recently returned for classes at Keene State. If you ask around town, one of the most glaring issues with local entertainment in Keene is the lack of established and ongoing live music. Only a scattering of venues book live music on a regular basis locally, and the majority of those venues stick with a certain niche. That niche, although necessary for the overall success of the individual venue, does seem to drive away the local college music fan. Something James hopes to change. Open Mic at Local Burger will kick off at 7:30 pm each Monday evening, with sign ups available beginning at 6:30 pm. Stop in and show your support for some up and coming Keene musicians, enjoy a burger, and tell James that Cider sent ya! Local Burger steps up Open Mic excitement for Mondays.
