Fifteen years ago Dine About Winnipeg was a restaurant event launched by Ciao ! to celebrate local restaurants and bolster the dining scene during the icy temperatures of winter . Over the years , this multi-restaurant promotion has mobilized thousands of Winnipeggers to expand their culinary repertoire and discover new spots . DAW has engaged the restaurant community , and the city ’ s best chefs to showcase what they do , and offer it at an incredible price . For many restaurants , presenting super-deals on their chef ’ s creations at the beginning of February is a way of thanking regular patrons for their business throughout the year .
This event is about sharing the city ’ s culinary story and drawing attention to great talent and cultural experiences this city offers . Restaurants showcase innovative and traditional dishes alike that represent creativity in their kitchens . This year , for the very first time , we are introducing special culinary events that add something new to the mix . Each of the events is unique and reflects the style of the restaurant . The group of restaurants breaking ground with this initiative are excited about giving customers a memorable meal with a new twist . Similarly , a series of culinary events , known as pop-up dinners has turned our attention to chefs Allan Pineda and Jeremy Senaris .
