Sherrod is licensed in Georgia and New Jersey and
works with clients nationally. To do this, she created
a preferred agent concierge network which allows
her company to assist clients in the purchase or sale of
any property in the continental United States. Sherrod
feels that the personal touch is important. "Being on
a national platform, I still treat everyone with the
same amount of care. It?s the most important
purchase you?ll make," she said.
Happily married since 2010, Sherrod met her
husband, Mike Jackson ten years ago. She recalled,
?The first time I saw him, I was hosting a concert in
New York, but I was just getting out of a relationship
and was in my `I hate men?phase. Then I saw him at
a parade and thought he was so cute. Our final time,
he purposely came to an event where he knew I would
be and he brought me roses. He said he was not
going to let me get away. We?ve been inseparable
ever since." Before joining Sherrod in the real estate
business, Jackson, (also known as DJ Fadelf) was a
successful entrepreneur. Jackson owns Luxe Sound
Entertainment and is co-author of Single Man,
Married Man, a book he self-published with friends.
The couple has one child together and Jackson has
one from a previous marriage. Recently, they've
been discussing the journey of adoption.
"I go to church, but I believe God is everywhere,"
said Sherrod who loves her quite time in the
morning. ?I try to be silent and reflect on my
upcoming day and plan. I often get words or
messages that come to my head. I call them victory
thoughts; they come from a place of catharsis for me.
Sometimes I post them on Instagram. I pray every
night and release every night, on my knees. I give it
all to God and know that I?m not perfect but I try to
be a living, breathing example of his work. I want
my daughter to grow up with those same values.
We go over everything she?s thankful for,
including the cartoon, "Team Umizoomi".
In 2008 Sherrod founded The Egypt Cares Family
Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to financial
empowerment and awareness. The focus of the
organization is to educate both men and women about
26
the importance of wealth preservation and home
ownership. The foundation?s work has been very
successful, earning her many Citations and
