April marks Ciao ! magazine ’ s annual salute to the world ’ s favourite flavour . Chocolatier Helen Staines of Decadence Chocolates shares tricks of the trade during our time in the kitchen with her . A chocolate theme extends to the annual Ciao ! ChocolateFest . Destinations are offering desserts , savoury appetizers or drinks at a sweet price of $ 7 . A sample of the treats on offer appear on page 22 . April marks the launch of another annual promotion at Ciao ! This is the time of year that we ’ re looking for the best kitchen in the city ! With television cooking and home makeover shows continuing to inspire us to eat better and live in beautiful spaces , desire to build swanky kitchens is on the rise . From now until June 30 , we are accepting submissions for the best designed kitchen . You can look at past winners on our website , ciaowinnipeg . com where you can also enter the competition . In partnership with Steinbach Credit Union , the top newly renovated kitchens are showcased on a multiple page photo spread in the Oct / Nov issue and the grand prize winner will be treated to dinner ! We have lined up Chef Fabrizio Rossi of Nicolino ’ s to host and cook a dinner party for six in that new kitchen . If you are raving about your recent renovations , then this contest is for you ! By fall , you could have one of Winnipeg ’ s best chefs cooking for you in it !
