ENVIRONMENTAL UPDATE COVID-19’s Impact on New Jersey Construction/Remediation Projects On April 24, 2020, the NJDEP extended the time frames for remediation under the Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites and the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation rules by 90 days. Compiled by John Joseph Parker Contributing Editor I n light of the dangers posed by COVID-19 and to mitigate community spread of the disease, on April 8, 2020, New Jersey Gover- nor Phil Murphy issued Executive Order 122 (EO 122), requiring, in relevant part, that all “non-essential” construction projects cease, ef- fective April 10, 2020. Every organization oper- ating in New Jersey should review EO 122 and other COVID-19 executive orders carefully.
