fewer churches and pastors experience camaraderie in traditional associational and convention-sponsored activities.

Providing opportunities for churches to collaborate together on missions projects, both at home and abroad, is an outstanding way to foster friendships among churches as well as to see vital ministry accomplished. As an example of this type of collaboration, First Baptist Church of Lee's Summit (where I serve as associate pastor) will be traveling to Guatemala July 21-28 for a medical missions trip. For the third year in a row, we'll be joined by members of First Baptist Church of Farmington and First Baptist Church of Warrensburg. The group from Warrensburg established significant ties with one of the churches we served in last summer and sent their own team back to assist that church in Totonicapan this past March. FBC of Farmington likewise has sent multiple teams to Guatemala as part of our ongoing partnership with Baptists there. Churchnet has helped provide resources, training, and orientation for these teams as well as part of our missional collaboration efforts. Prayerfully, we'll see those kinds of efforts multiplied even further through Vision 2020.
