First Church Youth Groups News
We have an exciting schedule planned
with both our middle and high school youth groups (YUP: grades 6–8; YES: grades 9–12) coming up for October!
Sunday, October 1: BOTH GROUPS will gather 5:30–7:30pm for a joint evening with St. Andrew's at First Church. We will have good food, fun activities, faith sharing and film shorts to spark conversation!
Pastors and leaders from both churches will be at this gathering.
5:30–6pm: Joint dinner in Bailey Hall
6–7:30pm: YUP joins St. Andrew’s Middle School group for team building, check in and a movie excerpt/discussion
6–7:30pm: YES joins St. Andrew’s High School group for team building, check in and short film/discussion
Sunday, October 8: No group meetings due to holiday weekend
Sunday, October 15: BOTH GROUPS meet Noon–3:15pm for the CROP Walk
YUP and YES gather at 12:00pm at St. Andrew's for lunch together and team building activities around hunger. Then everyone carpools over to Trinity United Methodist Church on Sumner Avenue for rally and the 3-mile CROP Walk for local and world hunger. See page 17 fo more information on the CROP Walk. No evening meetings that night.
Sunday, October 22: NO YUP meeting; YES activity will be 11:15am–12:30pm Cooking for Loaves & Fishes
Enjoy the special camaraderie that comes of food preparation and cooking when you know it goes to make a real difference in people’s lives! The Plankey family leads us in this crucial monthly ministry to feed hungry neighbors.
Sunday, October 29: NO YUP meeting; YES meeting 6:30–8pm. Topic or event TBA.
