Minister's

Message

In this time of Thanksgiving and stewardship, then, let

us take off our blinders. Let us renew our commitment to

Christian realism. Let us strive to build the kingdom of God,

to heal the brokenness of our world. And let us also take time,

every day - even every hour - to savor the fullness of creation. The sun rises daily whether we turn our backs to it or not. Let us, like Pollyanna, make of our lives a glad game.

Shalom,

Rev. Pam

Consecration Sunday

Sunday, November 5 is the day on which we will bring our 2018 pledges as an offering, receive a blessing, and share a delicious celebration brunch together in Bailey Hall. We hope everyone will be there! If you can’t be with us on this important day, please send your pledge to the office, pledge on line, or bring it the next Sunday you are at church.

The Consecration Sunday Team asks each of us to prayerfully consider what percentage of our income God is calling us to give. Are we sharing what we have in a way that supports what we feel is important? Can each of us gradually increase our giving as a spiritual practice, aiming towards tithing? How good we will feel to know we are supporting continued excellence in music, worship, and mission giving, as well as providing just compensation for our pastors, more emphasis on our programs for youth, and funds to maintain our beautiful and welcoming church!

“And let every person do as he has purposed in his heart – not grudgingly, or under constraint. For God loves a cheerful giver.”

— 2 Corinthians 9: 7
