Pajama Collection

Dear Friends,

In the coming weeks, some night you are going to turn up your thermostat, slip into your PJs and slippers. How good to feel the comfort and snuggle of flannel! We are so blessed to have comfortable homes, enough food and warm clothing. Not all children can say the same. Many in our communities go without. Our friends at the Jewish Federation have asked us to help them offer warmth and comfort to a child in need. Please participate!

— Rev. Pam

From the Jewish Federation of Western Mass:

We need your help to collect 1,000 new pairs of pajamas!

It is painful to know that during the cold winter months, children in our local community are going to sleep cold without the comfort of warm pajamas. Something as simple and as delightful as slipping into a new, cozy, warm pair of PJs, is a joy many children never have.

In order to meet this critical need in our community, The PJ Library (www.pjlibrary.org), a free children’s book initiative managed by the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts is excited to run our fourth bi-annual community wide pajama drive.

The drive will begin in November and we are hoping to collect 1,000 pairs of new pajamas. We are looking to you, our community to purchase new pairs of pajamas in preparation for the launch of the drive.

First Church of Longmeadow is proud to be a collection site for the Pajama Drive. The collection box is located outside the church office.

Please drop off new pajamas from November 1- December 17. The Pajamas will go to Gray House, Northampton Survival Center, and Jewish Family Services.
