Church Fair Update

A gentle reminder to 'Think Christmas'

Summer is a great time to get started creating items for our “First Church Originals” table. It is also a great time for canning. Have any items you collected on your travels for the “Gifts from Afar” Boutique? How about good-as-new, gently used clothing for our Chic boutique? Items for the Children’s Corner (for ages 2+) are always appreciated. And of course, jewelry — a featured item of our Fair —

is much needed. And don’t forget the Christmas Shoppe… for new and “like new” hand made and unusual décor for the home and tree.

If you have put off gathering things together, now is the time to get started! Starting in August, items may be delivered to room 9 on the second floor. If getting items to the second floor is difficult, you may leave them in the office and we’ll transport them for you. Special items you have been making -- whether sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting or otherwise creating — may be left in the church office. There is a box designated for Jewelry. Please make sure that items are boxed, clearly labeled and protected and include any pertinent information or instructions. (If you are donating puzzles please let us know that the puzzle set is complete.)

We look forward to the new and unusual items that folks have produced for the Fair. That’s what makes it all so special!

Save the Dates to lend a hand:

• Monday, July 16 at 10:15 am we will be making jellies and jams.

• Monday, August 13 at 10:15 am we will be making beeswax candles.

If you have never made jelly/jam or beeswax candles and would like to learn please join us. We will provide the supplies. We just need YOU!

The Church Fair Committee will be holding its first meeting of the season at 10 am on Monday, September 10 in the Benevolent Room (lower level). If you have ideas to share, or if you are looking for a way to help in this effort, please join us! If you are interested, but unable to attend give us a call or talk to someone on the committee. If you have questions or want more information, please contact
