Christmas Fair Update and Thank You

by co-chairs Sandy Turner and Mora Geoffrion

For those who attended church service on December 10, this Church Fair Update is somewhat of a repeat of what was stated in the Church bulletin but we felt it was worth repeating…

“Time is an equal opportunity employer. Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day. Rich people can't buy more hours. Scientists can't invent new minutes. And you can't save time to spend it on another day. Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving. No matter how much time you've wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow.” — Denis Waitely

Mora and I wish to thank each and every one of you who contributed in any way to this year’s Christmas Fair. It was a blessed, joyful, fun-filled, and exciting Fair and we owe it all to you! You gave of your time, your love, your energy, your talent, your ideas and of course, your generous and thoughtful donations.

We know that you are all anxious to know the final totals but, alas, that takes a bit of time. We need to be sure all monies have been collected and all expenses have been totaled. More to come later! (Teaser: We can tell you that over 800 people attended the Fair this year — up from 709 last year — and that most areas of the Fair exceeded total sales from last year.)

We can also tell you that last year you provided us with 120 dozen cookies and we ran out. We set the bar at 150 dozen cookies this year and you exceeded expectations! A total of 225 (yes, 225!) dozen cookies were prepared for the Fair – and we sold all but 4 cans! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Finally, the layout for the Fair was greatly improved this year. Thank you, Stan, for the suggestion to move jewelry to the first floor nursery!

…and thanks again to one and all who helped to make this Fair a success!
