Remembering Pastor Patrick

by Mary Friedman

Mark Pohlman and I attended a two-day memorial celebration of the life of Pastor Patrick Villier of CONASPEH in Haiti. We presented the plaque that was described in the December COG.

On the first day of the celebration school children presented dances and singing and speaking in memory of Pastor Patrick. On the second day a band played and a small choir sang. Five new bishops were ordained by Pastor Francoise Villier for CONASPEH. Pastor Patrick's sons and son-in-law came to the ceremony from the U.S. We had a delicious Haitian lunch after the service.

We had a time of sharing with Pastor Francoise and Bishop Buy Romelus. We had a chance to ask some questions and discuss some of the new directions CONASPEH may be taking in 2018. We visited the nursing lab and the school clinic and delivered over-the-counter medications donated by our church and the nursing bags for the students.

Sunday was our last day and we attended church in the morning with Pastor Francoise before flying home. It was a very meaningful trip!
