your own directory, as needed. (Of course, we’ll also have some directories available in the church.)

We received a generous donation to help First Church grow technologically and get a color copier. (Yes, it costs more to lease, but it will allow us to save the money and effort we currently spend on sending out print jobs.)

Dream 8:

Building new or deeper relationships with Bay Path University, Springfield College and other colleges and seminaries. Shared events and institutional connections draw new people to First Church and enliven us all!

Dream 9:

Evaluations of our worship, programs, teams, and systems. We learn from sharing both our successes and our failures. All of us need to keep growing and reaching for greater heights. I hope that every quarter our staff, leadership and teams can evaluate how things are progressing and how they need to change.

Nature is constantly in a cycle of life, growth, and death, and so is every aspect of our church. Acknowledging and welcoming this truth will make us stronger and more agile. We want to be the best, most responsive, Spirit-filled church we can be!

Like the Maori, I am looking forward, with all of you, at our past — as well as looking back at our future. In my five months here I have learned that First Church is a wonderful church. It is a justice-seeking, life-changing, mission-focused, Spirit-loving, worshiping and praising place. All of us together are answering God’s call for our church and our lives.

We can both face our common past and move together into our future — not stepping out alone but holding on to each other — stronger and wiser together.

Blessings,

—Rev. Pam
