Church School News
Church School and Nursery/Pre-K is using the "Spill the Beans" curriculum, so the children are reading (or will be read) the same scripture that the congregation hears during worship.
The readings are followed by activities that explain and reinforce the scripture message. We encourage you to talk to your children and share together your thoughts and opinions about what you all hear and learn.
In December the readings are:
December 3: No Church School, children will be in worship for the Hanging of the Greens
December 10: John 11:26-26. "I am the resurrection and the life."
December 17: Isaiah 55:1-12. "All you who are thirsty, come to the water!"
December 24, 10:00 am: John 1:1-18. The word becomes flesh.
December 24: 4:00 pm: Christmas Eve Service. No Church School.
December 31: John 1:19-34. John the Baptist prepares the way of the Lord.

CROP Hunger Walk Donation Update
Congratulations First Church on raising $2,431.00 for the Greater Springfield CROP Hunger Walk and raising the most money this year to win the Platinum Sneaker! Thanks to everyone who walked and those who donated to support a walker.
Money raised at this annual event helps to end hunger and food insecurity both locally and globally. Well done, First Church!
