Spain As part of the Erasmus+ project “Your History is Our History”, this activity has encouraged our students to respect and love their family and to be aware of their own history. HISTORY CONTEST The students of 4th grade of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) from the CPR San José took part in an interesting competition about important historical facts from our country and the rest of the countries involved in the Erasmus+ Project “Your History is Our History”. They learnt a lot and they enjoyed working in teams in order to answer all the questions. First, they took their time to read all the information about a specific event in the history of each country:       Facism in Italy (Social struggles and Fascist Coup) Lithuania during World War II and Soviet occupation The Hungarian Uprising of 1956 Poland – 100 years of independency The Carnation Revolution in Portugal The Spanish Transition to Democracy After they had read everything carefully, they began to answer the questions, working in teams. This activity has helped them to know more about the countries involved in the Erasmus Project. Studying history is important because it allows us to understand our past, which also allows to understand our present. If we want to know how and why our world is the way it is today, we have to look for answers in history, in spite of the fact that historical events can sometimes be hard and terrible.
