Send Prayers High

This should be a no-brainer, but we are such 'DOING' people that praying is not done hard enough, long enough or often enough. We plan, we scheme, we stress, we work - and if we pray, it is more like sending up a wish list to a Santa Claus who thinks we have been too naughty to reward. Prayer is not just for the realm of ministry. Prayer absolutely belongs at foundation of your business.

Don't be Shy

People need to know that in addition to your ministry, you are tentmaking. I learned the hard way, when a friend bought something I sold from a stranger because he did not know I sold that thing. I did not speak up. Not everyone is a possible client, but they may be able to offer a referral. Plant the seed! Simply share honestly, that to continue in the Lord's service, you are tentmaking, and this (fill in the blank) is your tentmaking thing. Speak up!

It's OK to Cry

.

If it were easy to serve God in difficult circumstances, everyone would be doing it. You are carrying a cross. If Jesus could sweat blood knowing the personal sacrifice required, trust me - it is OK to cry. Even so, don't cry too long, or too often. Not many will understand those tears either, but I do. My father and brother walked this road, and in my own way - I am too.

Build to the Sky

Beware of glass ceilings! The problem with them is, you don't see them and so you don't even know they are there. Years ago, I played the Prosperity Game to find I got stuck at explaining the $64K the 'Universe' delivered to me in the game. Prior to that, I had not personally earned in excess of $55K and would have laughed if anyone had tried to suggest (a) I had a glass ceiling and (b) it was as low as $64K. Once I got over that and expanded my mindset, I played again and got stuck at $250K. I kept playing the game over and over till I felt comfortable with the idea of earning millions. I had to see it in my mind before it could become possible in my life. What about you? Continued on pg 18

ministry will be a burden, and your tentmaking will be a frustration.
