WHOSOEVER SOUTH ‘COME ON IN’
Genre: Country Crunk - Label: Pit Bull Productions
Reviewed by: Christian St John - Rating: 4 (out of 5)
Imagine if you will, driving along the highway in a Grand Caravan listening to Family
Force 5. Then suddenly you pass through a portal into… The Twilight Zone. Instantly you
find yourself driving through the Kentucky backwoods in a mudded and beat up 4X4.
The stereo is still blasting away, but the music has changed… instead of Crunk, you are
now listening to Country Crunk!
Listening to Whosoever South’s Come On In, I am instantly reminded of the song
featured in the intro credits of the TV show, Justified. Hip-Hop laden Country Music with
a healthy sprinkling of Rap thrown into the mix - that’s the best way to sum-up the
second album from this home-down country-rappin’, hip-hoppin’ trio whom I like to refer to as Country Force 3.
Usually I wouldn’t go for music like this, but for whatever reason I really like this album. Maybe it’s because it’s so out-there different,
or maybe I just needed a break from my usual auditory diet of Metal with a side of Hard Rock. I’m not sure why, I just dig it!
So if you’re looking for music to brighten up your day and get your toes tapping, or if you’re looking for music to play at your next
hoe-down, check out Come On In.
