Special needs in kids can manifest in a variety of forms. Some children may have difficulties with their speech while others may have a physical limitation. It is also important to recognize invisible disabilities, such as a heart condition, so we may help children fully inhabit and thrive the unique body God has given them.

The REACHability Foundation is one nonprofit organization that strives to help disabled and special needs kids reach their full potential. Preparatory is just as concerned for the care of their souls as well their bodies. Their mission statement is: “The Hope Foundation for Kids exists to provide athletic opportunities and educational scholarships for underprivileged kids who need more focused care in order to excel. As we all know, children learn differently and some students who are bursting with potential need to be in an environment with lower student teacher ratio in order to reach that potential. That’s why we are here. Working in partnership with Faith Preparatory School in New Milford, Hope Foundation is able to scholarship these students into an environment that affords them with a student teacher ratio of 10:1 thus allowing students to receive the one-on-one training they need to succeed.”
