It is said if you do something you
love you will never work a day in
your life! For Linda Tindale owner
of Bundaberg Health Foods this has
proven to be the case.
For more than twenty years
Linda had been involved in the
medical profession, nursing and
managing medical services in North
West Queensland. She had always
had a keen interest in health.
The company she worked
for offered her a promotion to a
position in Brisbane and Linda
decided to take some of her holiday
leave before starting her new
position. A visit to her parents who
lived in a small seaside town north
of Bundaberg had Linda questioning
her life, health and career.
Daily walks on the beach gave
Linda the time she needed to
carefully consider her priorities and
to focus on the direction she wanted
her future to take. In her heart she
knew the job she was about to
embark on was not really where
she wanted to be, so she decided to
resign.
Then she thought what now?
She had always thought she would
love to own a small business, but
wasn’t sure what that would look
like. Linda’s mother had found an
advertisement in the local paper for
the sale of an established Health
Food store. Instantly Linda knew
it was for her, she had always
had a keen interest in alternative

therapies. Linda explains that the
moment she entered the store, the
feel of the place, the smells and
sounds felt just right.
In no time at all Linda took on
this wonderful kind of mish mash
alternate health food store and
never looked back.
I asked Linda to tell us all about
her business affectionately known
as Bundy Health Foods.
Our clientele are from a fairly
large demographic, I would say
primarily Women but a lot more
men these days too. We are
probably seeing more and more
environmentally conscious people
and those with specific dietary
requirements as well.
Our store is a small independent
store, with a wide range of
products. We pride ourselves on
having a great knowledge of our
products and being as helpful as we
can in assisting customers to find
the right product for their specific
needs. If we don’t have what they
are looking for we will endeavour
to access it for our customers if
possible.
Customers today are more
informed about what they want,
and are more specific in the type
of products they want. Our role
has become more of a facilitator
and in some instances an educator
