Whoever said you can’t buy happiness forgot
about puppies. We have a new family member,
Jupiter the Cavoodle our adorable cover boy.
He has brought so much joy and laughter into
our lives in the short time we’ve had him, even
though my heels and hands appear to be his
favourite chew toys.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been a star
gazer, looking up into the night sky has always
captivated me, so it seemed only fitting that
my best friend should have a celestial name.
According to Roman mythology Jupiter was the
supreme god, the king of gods, presiding over the heavens and light.
Over four years ago my best friend went missing never to be seen again.
Moet was an eleven year old chocolate brown poodle and we searched far
and wide desperately trying to find him. We went to exorbitant levels and
significant cost in our quest to find him, posters and flyers, newspaper ads,
pet detectives, even clairvoyants all to no avail.
Delia’s passion became nutritional
neuroscience after she completed
her Masters in Psychology.
She offers an evidence-based
approach to nourish overwhelmed
brains via her two ‘Feed Your
Brain’ books.
Delia McCabe, MA (Psych), PhD (c) I recently read a quote by Eldon Roark “one of the happiest sights in the world
comes when a lost dog is reunited with a master he loves.” Unfortunately
we never got the chance to experience that and whilst I still have a shred of
hope he may come home to us one day, my realistic self reminds me that he
would be over fifteen years old and with every passing year the prospect of a
reunion fades.

The magazine design and the
photography is his responsibility. Many family members and friends encouraged me to get a new pet in the
hope that it would help me to move forward after Moet’s sudden departure.
For the first few years I refused to even entertain the thought, fearful that the
act of replacement would in some way diminish the bond we shared.
The moment I brought him home I knew he was going to help heal the crack
in my heart, after all there is no medicine in the world like a puppy licking
your face.

with unconditional love and all they want in return is to hang out with us, so it
is little wonder pet ownership is booming throughout the world.
There is no doubt that my newest best friend has firmly cemented his place
in my heart even though he has peed on and chewed
everything I love.
