Macular Degeneration
In 2010 I noticed that my
right eye vision was changing.
Initially, progress of the
disease was slow, however
after few months, I noticed
considerable loss in
sharpness and progressive
loss of vision.
Vision was not only blurred
but I was also losing my eye
sight.
Initially the problem was
misdiagnosed as normal ageing process
(I was 60 at that time). As I do have only
one eye, this was a very serious matter
to me as I did not want to go blind.
After consulting Sydney Retina
Clinic I was diagnosed with wet form
of Adult Macular Degeneration (AMD).
Luckily treatment in the form of Lucentis
intraocular injection was available and I
noticed quick improvements.
For over 6 months, my vision
continued with good results however,
on a cellular level the damage was still
visible and not improving.
At that time new research on using
saffron for AMD became known. I delved
into the details of this new, natural
medication. Saffron has been observed
to assist people with vision problems.
Certain correlation between saffron
usage and vision improvement was
observed which led to clinical trial with
very positive results.
Within 3 months of taking saffron,
small positive changes on the cellular
level were observed. It was very
encouraging so I continued with saffron
supplementation. After few months
certain “irreversible” changes in my
retina started to dramatically improve.
In addition to saffron I also used
Resveratrol supplement (bio-activated
by Nature’s Goodness), high in
polyphenol antioxidants.
Today, after 4 years of treatment, my
eye returned to normal with astonishing
no visible changes on a cellular level. My
vision is even better than the pre AMD
event. I do not use glasses or any other
help.
Throughout this period I was treated
with Lucentis injection every few
weeks, then months, with my own
saffron supplementation.
Today my Lucentis injection are not
needed and I hope it will stay that way. I
still use saffron everyday.
