the fight will be still be on and could intensify. So we have to continue to be better. What changes would you like to see occur within the Natural Health and Wellness sector? I would like to see it nationally recognised as a very important part of our health system. I do not like divisions between different health disciplines. Disease begins with poor gut health and while disease will always be present we should focus as much on prevention as on crises. The refusal (especially of the AMA) to co-operate with other health disciplines is very disastrous to our nation. wholesome ready prepared meals. Working with my teams to simply provide every customer with what they need. In a co-operative, friendly and jovial atmosphere My Mantra is what drives my passion and our culture: “I wish for each of you to find your purpose in life: The dream you were born to own and achieve. The dream you will never compromise. The dream that provides your whole being with vitality and passion. Passion to inspire others to achieve their dream. Passion that will influence you to act with patience, compassion, generosity and humility. I wish for you a legacy of hope and not regret, a legacy of abundance and not scarcity, a legacy of health, inner peace and fulfilment…..” Mario C. What’s the best thing about your job? It is a wonderful feeling that having started with myself and one assistant in 1976 with the one goal of focusing on providing solutions, advice and support for each customer. All provided in a ‘family’ atmosphere. Today, I look back on the number of remarkable individuals who work as teams to provide this same mission. When people walk into a Calanna Pharmacy they usually ‘feel at home’. This is what I love to hear. I consider Mario to be a true pioneer in his field, long before others followed in his footsteps Mario embraced what Hippocrates the Father of Medicine famously said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Spring 2018 41 Winter Spring 2019 41
