CONTOUR Q+A IS THIS NECESSARY? Not necessarily! Artists use this technique for dramatic results, and to have fun playing with blending. Don’t feel intimidated: you can still experience the benefits of contour without going to this extreme. What if my contour just won’t blend? Artists make it look so easy When introducing contour into your makeup routine, play around with different textures (cream vs. powder) and application techniques until you find what is right for you. POWDER: When it comes to powder contour, I love using the Makeup Forever large powder fan brush. It is the perfect size and shape to slice along the contours of the cheeks! Proceed by wiping any excess product off the brush, and use the clean brush to blend the edges. I also love using a small round blush brush to apply powder contour using circular motions. CREAM: I have recently fallen in love with cream contour. Apply your cream contour directly onto a dampened Beauty Blender, and let the magic of the Beauty Blender do the work for you. Use a stippling motion and work the product into the contours of your cheeks.  TIP: Using a circular motion is a fantastic blending technique, and also works great on the contours of the eye.  What is the correct placement when highlighting so that I don’t look“oily”? There is a fine line between glowing and looking shiny. Apply highlighter to the following areas for your skin to look glowing without looking overdone: The cupid’s bow of the lips, down the bridge of the nose, the inner corner of the eyes, and the top of the cheekbones. Avoid too much highlight under the brows. TIP: Intensity of highlighter varies depending on how the light hits it. Tilt your head and work with the light when applying highlighter. This helps to avoid using too much product.
