Success in Practice While our students receive the education, training and hands-on practice needed to become exemplary clinicians, LIFE also provides extensive chiropractic practice management training. Many chiropractors choose to start their own practices, building a business from the ground up. Thus, our students learn chiropractic practice management from experienced and highly credentialed faculty members. Whereas most chiropractic colleges’ practice management courses are taught by chiropractors, our students learn marketing, management, entrepreneurship and computer information management from expert faculty who have devoted their professional lives to their discipline. What really sets LIFE apart are our three chiropractic practice management capstones threaded throughout the curriculum. The purpose of these capstones is to inspire, motivate and maintain the students’ passion and purpose for the chiropractic profession. These capstones enable our students to connect the “Who,” “Why” and “How” of Chiropractic to “Where” they fit into the overall Big Picture. With more than 100 chiropractic practice management hours built into the curriculum, there’s no worrying about how you will start up and run a practice, or if you’ll be successful in joining an existing practice. You’ll already be way ahead of the competition. 4 | COLLEGE OF Chiropractic | Life University Study Abroad, Research and Practicum Opportunities Another rewarding and life-changing experience available to LIFE students is study abroad at clinics in places such as China, Sweden, New Zealand, Ghana or Peru. Students spend a quarter immersed in the culture of another part of the world, enhancing their clinical skills, working under the supervision of extension faculty doctors and observing patients with clinical conditions less frequently encountered in U.S. chiropractic clinics. Senior students may also elect to provide care to underserved populations through our Outreach program, conduct faculty-guided research projects or learn in a private doctor’s office through our PEAK (Practice, Excellence, Art and Knowledge) externship program.
