the book. But I got hired as a chaplain mid-July, which was great, but it sunk that timeline. J: So I was drawing every Saturday for 7 months! It was intense. Vic would take each drawing as soon as I finished it, digitize it, and add it to the book. We also kept our 111 backers updated every few weeks with pics of the process. We finally sent it to the printers in mid-March. When can we expect books to hit store shelves? J: We just got our first advance copy in the mail! It’s so gorgeous. The rest will be here by mid-May, and our goal is to release the book by Memorial Day weekend. Where will books be available for sale? V: Sundial Books and the Refuge Inn will be carrying the coloring book, and we’ll be selling both the print version and a printable ebook version on our website - colormechincoteague.com. Do you have any future coloring books planned? J: We’d love to do a Color Me Baltimore book some day! V: What would be really cool is if some vacation destinations started hiring us to make coloring books of their locales. They could set us up with paid vacations for, you know, “research.” Seriously, though, this was a crazy amount of work. We did it for the love, and to bring something beautiful into the world for others to enjoy. How can people stay updated on your projects/Color Me Chincoteague? J: We’re on Facebook, of course... You can join our email list (through our website) and you can follow us on Instagram. I’m @joanna.draws, and we created a Color Me Chincoteague feed as well: @colormechinco. Tag us in a picture of your colored page and we’ll repost it! Vic & Joanna King 25
