The Pope’s Intentions
Continued from Page 1...
General Intention
New Evangelization.
The promotion of the common good requires respect for the
right to private property and its exercise, but we must be
certain that the common good is.
That the New
Evangelization may
progress in the oldest
Christian countries.
Missionary Intention
World Mission Day.
That the celebration
of World Mission
Day may result in a
renewed commitment
to evangelization.
“In his use of things man should regard the material goods
he owns not just for himself but common to others also, in
the sense that they can benefit others as well as himself.
The ownership of any property makes its holder a steward of
Providence, with the task of making it fruitful and distrubuting
the benefits to others, first of all his family.
(Taken mostly from CCC 2402-2404)
Stealing also applies to our spiritual life. We can”steal” others’
attention during Mass by talking. We can steal our own time with
God by being willfully distracted. When we sin, we steal grace
from ourselves. This commandment means so much - let’s
try to practice the virtue of generosity especially this month.
