What sort of work do you specialize in ? My brand mostly centers around child photography particularly the tween age , but I enjoy photographing children of all ages . Photographing dancers and shooting headshots for competition and modeling is my specialty .
Did you study photography at school ? I did not go to an actual photography school , but I have participated in many online training webinars / classes . I ’ m mostly self taught by just practicing and continuing to try new things until I get it right .
How long have you been a photographer ? I have done photography very minimally as a hobby since 2011 , but I have been an established business for 2 years .
What or who got you started ? My neighbor bought her first DSLR camera and began photographing her son and kids in the neighborhood . I was impressed with the images she was able to capture and soon after purchased my first DSLR and began practicing on my daughter and nephew . I immediately began to fall in love with capturing all their special little moments that time could never return to me .
How would you describe your style ? I really try to take a less is more approach for most of my sessions unless it ’ s a session with a particular theme . I try to keep things simple even in my editing to the let the true beauty of the subject shine through .
What type of cameras do you shoot with ? I currently shoot with a Nikon D600 .
Do you prefer film or digital ? Digital .
What is your favorite photography accessory , other than your camera ? I ’ m a natural light photographer and I don ’ t use much in the line of accessories . I would say if anything , the sun if that can be considered an accessory . I love the sun at the right time of day . The perfect light can really make your images come to life in a whole new way .
If you had to choose one lens which one would it be and why ? 50mm 1.8 that ’ s currently the only lens ever on my camera . It ’ s versatile and very fast and sharp .
