to be available every day. Some of our
kids go out four days a week, five days
a week. We have kids that go out three
times in one day. So you just need to
be flexible and be able to take them to
this. And then their classes, their photos, maybe get a video done, have them
work on student films and the filming
that goes with that. So it’s a full time
commitment for the kids, like any major activity that kid chooses to do.
to come for the callback. And if they
can’t come for the callback and they’re
not famous, they’re not going to get
booked. Some parents go “oh, they’re
so amazing, they’ll get booked”… no
they won’t. They’re just going to going
to go past them and go to the next kid.
So you go to the audition. Then you
get a callback because they want to
see you again. Is there any guarantee

those parents? Is it doable? Can they
get their kid in?
And that’s just it,
Well I think the trick is to find an
agent, if you live in an area outside of
New York, Atlanta, or Los Angeles, you
should find a local agency that will help
you with local things. Most LA agencies will not take someone that lives
far because of the logistics of it. Now
if it’s this kid that’s absolutely amazing,
then … like, I do have one and I only
submit him to movies. That’s it. No
TV. Because we’re going to have to film
them and do a self tape for the first audition. And most people don’t like that
because remember how I said how fast
they move on these projects? So they
don’t even have time to look at a self
tape. And if even if they do look at a self
tape, they need to be able to fly quickly
back even at less than 24 hour notice
it’s a numbers game.
I think the actual rule is that you’ll go
on a hundred auditions before booking a major, major role. Not to say
you won’t book little small things. But
your major role, like your series regular, is a hundred auditions. I’ve heard
that number tossed around. Now, I’m
curious to what a lot of my kids have
done. But what I’ve noticed in the past
year, I’ve had kids go out on maybe…
probably 40 or 50 auditions this year,
booked little tiny things here and there,
but are still waiting for that big role.
If a parent doesn’t live close to you,
they can still submit to you, but just
