IN THE SPOTLIGHT Cindy Stirling Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist “For a flawless look on camera I like to make sure skin is well hydrated with a SPF free moisturizer on the face and body, and lip balm on their lips. Making sure skin is matte but not have a dry-dull finish. I find it’s best to stand by on set to look out for any shine or sweat that starts to appear and blot them any chance you get. Spraying hairspray onto a paper towel to smooth down any fly away’s on to top of finished hair styles, will help to eliminate any airborne spray that could possibly land on photographers lens. I stay away from mineral makeup or any powders that have shimmer or SPF, they tend to refect the light from the flash, look like presperation and can create hot spots on the image. For children 7 and under, you don’t want them to look like they’re wearing any makeup. A clear mascara on lashes and in brows can do the trick! If they have light hair and brows appear nude, a light matte brow shadow can be applied to enhance they’re eye shapes.” - Cindy Stirling Child Photo Magazine | 59
