The final presentation from Jill and Michael Cook showed how they took their yacht to Holland and travelled all the way up the canals to the Ijsselmeer .
Their experiences of mooring in the middle of pretty towns , tying up right outside a restaurant or supermarket , and avoiding some of the huge commercial barges that travel on the Dutch canals , certainly encouraged a number of members to consider this destination for their next cruise .
After these presentations we had the chance to chat informally to our speakers and look at the charts and pilot books of these areas .
In addition members manned five tables covering other areas inviting us to peruse their charts and pick their brains .
These included :

► Graeme and Helen Jupp – Poole and Weymouth
► Geoff and Sarah Gamble – West Country
► John Hall – cruising in a power boat
► Jef Lawrence – chartering in New Zealand , Whitsundays , Tonga and Turkey
