What Are You Doing at the Library? Continuing my love of the excellence of the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal through daily reading and reflection. Through sharing of materials, friendships develop. Taking home and reading the latest books in print gives me more material for reflection. – Cynthia Janklow Picking up books I use personally and to prepare for teaching OLLI classes, that are sent from other Yavapai County libraries and through interlibrary loan from libraries around the country. Volunteering at the Library, which gives me the pleasure of meeting and interacting with library patrons, other volunteers, and the wonderful library staff. – Lewis Sokoloff – Paul Friedman I’m here with my daughter, Felicia, the 2015 Spelling Bee Champion of her school here in Sedona, and of course, we know that the welcoming spirit and warm atmosphere of the youth services department has greatly contributed to her love of words and reading! – Annette Foldes I come here four or five times a week to use the computers. One of the benefits of using the computers here is that there is always a very knowledgeable person at the desk to offer assistance to those of us who are not quite up to speed in using technology. I use the computers for doing research, checking e-mails, purchasing plane tickets, and booking rooms on airbnb, and of course there is a printer to print out your information. The computers are free to use and you get a generous twohour time allotment. – Jo Ann Kuruc Faxing and scanning now available! S PL is the proud owner of a new self-service document transfer station, which is designed specifically for use in libraries. You now have the ability to easily scan documents to your smart phone, an e-mail address, the cloud, or a storage device. Need to send a fax? You can do that, too. The document transfer station also offers high-quality printing and copying in both black-andwhite and color. Ask at the reference desk for specifics on the nominal fee structure. The document transfer station was purchased with a generous grant from the Arizona Community Foundation. Come in and try it out for yourself! check it out > www.sedonalibrary.org 13
