game details + entertainment NATIONAL ANTHEM The Star Spangled Banner will be performed by Deloris “Dee” Quaranta. Dee is the Founder and CEO of Northeast Florida Women Veterans, Inc. She retired from the US Air Force after 20 year of service and that career has taken her to places such as Italy, Philippines, Germany, Korea, Puerto Rico and several stateside bases. Currently, she is working to bring awareness to the needs of women veterans. She was able to convince the Mayor to sign a proclamation to declare the third week of March each year, “Women Veterans Recognition Week”, she spearheaded a week-long celebration that culminated in honoring WWII female veterans. Due to her advocacy efforts, in 2017, she was able to convince Governor Scott of Florida to follow and we now honor women veteran throughout the state of Florida with a national observance currently being considered. Dee’s volunteer efforts resulted in her receiving the Commander’s Award for Public Service and the Air Force Angel Award for Volunteerism. Having provided direct support for the Oklahoma City bombing in 1996, she received the Humanitarian Service Medal. In addition to the Air Force Commendation and Meritorious Service medals, she recently received the Jacksonville Business Journal’s 2016 Veteran of Infl uence Award, ESGR Seven Seals Award, 2014 Workforce Champion Award, 2015 HandsOn Jacksonville Celebrate Good Award- Military category, Wealth Watcher’s Homes for our Heroes recognition, and the Women of Color Compassionate Award. On hand to interpret the National Anthem for the hearing impaired is Brooke Page. “Ladies and gentlemen, performing today’s National Anthem tribute is “The Warbirds Flyover Team”. Specializing in precision formation, The Warbirds are led by former Naval Carrier aviator and Gulf War I veteran, Hank Gibson of Jacksonville, Florida. A Naval Academy graduate, he fl ew the A-7 Corsair and FA-18 Hornet strike aircraft and has arrested landings aboard 7 different aircraft carriers. Team members are all veterans of the uniformed services and truly understand the dedication and sacrifi ce that our men and women are making daily worldwide. Today we celebrate the freedom of fl ight and honor all those who have served in the defense of our great nation and way of life.
